Help me support the Malcam Charitable Trust in Toss the Boss 2017

Otago

Clare Curran has been the Member of Parliament for Dunedin South for the past 8 years. She is the second women Labour MP in Dunedin, and the first for Dunedin South.

During this time she has used her campaigning experience to fight for the community on local issues including:

Working to save the Hillside workshops, representing South Dunedin, particularly after the June 2015 flooding, fighting to stop quarrying at Saddle Hill, highlighting the problems with Dunedin Hospital food and provider Compass, and working to save Invermay as a centre for agricultural research.

Nationally she has helped run and support campaigns to:

Save TVNZ7, retain TVNZ’s second Otago Southland Reporter and ask the government to unfreeze Radio New Zealand’s funding.

More recently she has highlighted Dunedin’s growing housing crisis and the lack of regional development, and she continues to fight for the Dunedin Hospital rebuild to be centrally located and retain its strong link to the Dunedin Medical School.

Clare has always been supportive of the work of the Malcam Charitable Trust, and the difference that they make with local young people.

She takes her role as a constituent MP very seriously and believes in strong, local representation.

On the morning of the 2nd June I'll be abseiling from the roof of Forsyth Barr Stadium 35 metres to the pitch below, fundraising for the Malcam Charitable Trust. All funds raised will go towards providing the youth of Otago experiences that enable them to discover who they are, and where they fit in.
