Clutha District Youth Council abseiling for rangatahi in Otago!
Participating in syd Annual Fundraiser 2025

The Clutha Youth Council is made up of 14 young people, aged 14-24 years old, who live, work or attend school in the Clutha District. Of the 14, we must have one representative from each of the five secondary school's, two representatives from Telford (SIT) and two representatives from a workplace. The remaining positions are flexible and can be filled by anyone who fits the age bracket and lives in the district. We call for applications at the end of each calendar year.
Each year the Youth Council set their work plan which involves projects, promotions, events and the opportunity to give input and a youth perspective to the Clutha District Council staff and Council.
This year the Youth Councilors are participating in syd's Annual Fundraising event for funds to be used in the Clutha District!
One of the Youth Councilors says, "When I heard about this opportunity to step out of my comfort zone, I thought, Why not? It sounded like a great chance to try something new, grow as a person, and contribute to something meaningful".
