Concert for Nepal is a fundraiser for the Himalayan Trust, to support the Musey Water Project in the Solukhumbu Valley.

Waikato

Musey, a village 30 minutes from Lukla, was severely impacted in the 2015 Nepal earthquakes. They are fundraising for a new safe water supply which will supply 80 homes with clean, accessible water and fire hydrants.

Rachel Twyman's involvement (page creator)

In 2017, I travelled to the Solukhumbu Valley as a recipient of the Step Higher Award on the Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship Programme. After visiting the village of Musey and trekking to Ama Dablam base camp, my group were lucky enough to see the humanitarian work of the Himalayan Trust in the region. Sir Ed's influence is widespread, and the people of Solukhumbu are being given access to better education, healthcare, and safe water supplies. I was inspired to continue my fundraising efforts for the Himalayan Trust because of the beautiful Nepali people, and because we have the resources to help meet their needs.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
