HELP THE HIMALAYAN TRUST BRING SAFE WATER TO THE COMMUNITY OF MUSEY.
The village of Musey in the Everest region of Nepal was badly affected by the devastating 2015 earthquakes. Many homes were destroyed and the village water tank was damaged beyond repair.
The community has been working hard to rebuild homes and get their lives back on track. But replacing the water tank is a priority. Most of the community depend on agriculture for their livelihood. So living without safe water has not only impacted daily life – without water for crops, it has also severely affected their incomes.
The community have already raised over $40,000 towards a seismic-resistant water system that will service all 80 houses in the village, provide water for their fields and supply seven fire hydrants. But they need an estimated $70,000 to be able to complete the project.
Can you help with a donation today so Musey village can access safe drinking water for their families and crops, and protect their village in the event of a fire?
Sir Edmund Hillary founded the Himalayan Trust in 1960, and ever since then we have been working alongside our friends and partner organisations in Nepal to help the people of the Everest region with health, education and general wellbeing.
We are an international non-profit humanitarian organisation working in the Solukhumbu region of Nepal—an area where Sir Ed first set off to climb Mt Everest and where he ended up spending many years over his lifetime.
