Creating Space for Youth to Encounter Their Potential

We all believe that every young person can encounter their potential.

Sadly, many of our young people today have low self-worth, lack direction, have feelings of despondency and are stuck in a negative cycle.

At Encounter, we unleash youths' potential through fun activities, exploring spirituality, with a psychological approach in a supportive community.

We hold the youth at the centre of all that we do ensuring successful outcomes so they can: find purpose and hope, have a secure sense of identity and develop resilience.

This is Dylan’s story…

Dylan was referred to us with a background of criminal activity, alcohol and drug abuse, suicidal ideation, and concerns for his mental well-being.

He engaged with Encounter therapy, mentoring, and attended a camp. He now has hope and a purpose to study hard at his Employ NZ CareersFit course. He had the motivation to break his alcohol and drug addiction so he could attend tournaments in a national sports team. Dylan is breaking his family cycle and stepping out with a forward focus and strengthened mana in the gifts and talents he carries.

Dylan is just one of many who credit positive transformation in their lives to Youth Encounter.

Due to the increase in needs in youth in our wider community, we have to create more space at our Home Base in Paengaroa, BOP and wish to build another stand alone room. We need your help.
