Cycling for food security

$2,890 donated
Given by 53 generous donors in 6 weeks

Raising money for the Lower Hutt food bank and raising awareness about the issue of food insecurity.

Lower Hutt, Wellington

Roughly 14% of Kiwis are 'Food insecure' and have trouble putting healthy food on the table. The Lower Hutt Community Foodbank provides emergency food parcels with enough food to feed individuals or families for four days. Last year in 2023 they distributed 10,000+ food parcels. To support them, I'll be cycling 1 kilometre for every $2 that is donated through this page to help raise awareness about food insecurity and hopefully attract more donations.

If we raise the amount of $4000, I will ride the length of Aotearoa New Zealand from Cape Reinga to Bluff using the Tour Aotearoa route.

The Ride  11 October 2024

Thank you to all who chose to donate to this page. We raised $2,890! That means I have to ride 1445km, which I'll be doing by riding the length of the South Island, from Picton to Bluff along the Tour Aotearoa route. This will happen in January of next year and I'll log the journey on this Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/pictontobluff2025/
