My sister, friend and I have completed the 3000 km Tour Aotearoa!

My last report from Bluff: "The last 33km done on a sunny day, but in a westerly blustery wind. So nice to be here after our adventures of 29 days. What a trip it has been, especially doing it together with Ina my Sister and John my mate from way back.

Just another 33km back to Invercargill now, haha.

Looking for a van to go back rather then flying."

    You can still donate!

What an amazing achievement! I hope the three of you are feeling good, and not too many aches and pains. The world look so different to when you started - thinking of you and hoping the 'reentry' process isn't too difficult. Having been a family member of people who have accessed the hospice service, thank you so much - your fundraising will help so many people. x

Hey everyone. Wellington Picton was a lovely relaxing trip - 3.5 hours bliss no riding. Picton to Pelorus bridge via Queen Charlotte Scenic Drive - just beautiful. We had a night in the lovely Pelorus camp. And today (Sunday) a very rough and taxing ride over the M

A nite in lovely Pelorus camp. Today a very rough and taxing ride over the Maungatapu Saddle (Mt Richmond Forest Park) It was 26km sealed and 12km on a 4WD track.

Then a lovely ride from Nelson to HOME.

"Hey Everyone, we are back in civilization and Wifi.

What a trip we have had the last three days from Te Aroha. From there to Matamata and alternate ride past Arapuni and Waipapa, Maretai dams. Stayed overnight in Mangakino. Had fun getting the bikes through the Arataki wire swing bridge. Then took a picture at the centre of North Island. Then start of the 80km Timbre Trail. Biked half the trail and camped at Piropiro flats. Next morning via Ongarue to Taumaranui. Stayed overnight there. Yesterday from here a very taxing day towards Bridge to Nowhere. Serious grade 4 mountain biking (not Ina's favourite). We made it safely to the landing. The last two days three helicopter trips were needed to get people out who went off the trail with broken bones.

End of yesterday an amazing 30 minute boat ride to Pipiriki camp. Today a lovely ride following the Wanganui river to Wanganui."

Sorry! The previous update photo was actually of the new Thames bridge (taken from the old one we biked over).

I'm unable to change the update, so consider this a correction. ;)

As of right now, we have cycled 670km in total. Have passed through Matamata this morning.

We've made it almost halfway down the North Island. This picture is from the Cheese Barn at Matatoki, just before Paeroa.

I have together all the stuff I'm taking on the bike. And the bike is packed ready to go on the plane.

    Wish me luck!

Thanks to all who have supported me so far!

Some have asked about my training. It has been a bit random but is going well, considering I'm also busy landscaping. I've been going for big and small rides, mainly in the weekends.

I've also tested myself with a couple of big rides in Wellington - big coast there. And my fitness has been helped by a year of steady F45 training five times a week. =)
