We arrived in Manchester after a long 108km day, some of it in heavy rain. A real mixture of roads, canal paths, rail trails, single tracks. Everything going well covered 1100km. Getting near halfway. 🙂 having a day off today.

    Lejog into week 3

We've now reached the West Midlands after 2 weeks on the road. We had 2 nights in Bath (one day off bikes) then two nights in Wales. Heading north again we are staying in Bridgnorth tonight. We have made some great choices re the accommodation. Old hotels, apartment, b&b, university in Bath, 2 nights with family and 3 nights in the tent. We've got into a routine now and tend to stop in the afternoon and book for that night. Weather has been 8/10, Nicola's navigation 9/10, no health/ injury probs, no lost property, one mechanical issue sorted today. We've travelled 926km but aren't half way yet. Thanks for the support.

We have taken a detour through Bath instead of going directly to Bristol. We have had a day on foot visiting the sights. Tomorrow we will head to Bristol and on to Wales. 562km complete.

We made it to the start which is a big achievement in itself. We rode out to Lands End, (the start) from Penzance. Then rode back to Penzance so we are underway

  • From the Cure Parkinson’s August news last week

      13 August 2025

"Meanwhile, a fundraiser who will be no stranger to many Cure Parkinson's NZ supporters, is Mike Havill, who is cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats in the UK to raise funds for Parkinson's research. Mike, who has previous cycled the length of NZ to raise funds for us, and who cycled from the Marlborough Sounds to Milford Sound a couple of years ago to raise awareness, was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2012. We wish Mike well on his journey as he flies out today, and we look forward to hearing from him as he undertakes this incredible challenge. You can support him on this mission..."
