Aiming to beat my personal best time of 4 hours 54 minutes at the Taupo Cycle Challenge and raise funds for Totara Hospice.
Auckland
I am taking on the Taupo Cycle Challenge and have set myself a target of a personal best of 4 and a half hours. Whilst I am taking on this physical challenge I hope you will consider donating to a much needed item for Totara Hospice. Presently when patients have symptoms that mean that have lost their voice and to communicate with Doctors via small whiteboards. I want to help raise $533 that will purchase a table device that patients can use to communicate with Doctors and Nurses and their families. This will ensure a more stable well being for the patient who will now be able to communicate effectively and easily with their doctors and nurses. Also they can talk to their families and ensure they are not having to rewrite thoughts or needs.
When in Hospice care some patients in the In Patient Unit have difficulty talking due to the effects of their illness. Totara Hospice needs to raise $533 to purchase a tablet that patients and doctors can use between them to communicate. Presently they are using small whiteboards, the tablet will enable the patient either the option to type or write with a stylus what they need. Coming from a digital marketing and communications area I can see how this will help the patients wellbeing and also help with the care they are receiving. Along with supporting the Doctors and Nurses at Hospice to be able to help their patients.
