Cancer doesn’t stop so we won’t either. I am wanting to do our bit to help such an amazing cause that really touches our hearts.

Cancer doesn’t stop so we won’t either. COVID-19 has once again interrupted life as we once knew it and so, the Cancer Society can't hold a street appeal this year. So we need you to step up.
Let’s help the Cancer Society continue to support the 1 in 3 New Zealanders affected by cancer.
So, what does the Cancer Society do?
Promote healthy lifestyles to help you prevent cancer. The Cancer Society researches cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatments. We fight for lifesaving policy changes. They provide everything from emotional support to the latest cancer information for those who have been touched by cancer.
Matai was lucky enough to work with the Cancer Society as a coordinator this year and as part of my role, we were aiming to spread the awareness around the community and set up ways in which the public could get involved and donate to help such a charitable cause. As a result of the nationwide lockdown, this mission has somewhat come to an early halt.
However, this charitable organisation means a lot to me, as sadly we lost our nana to cancer. She was the most loving, caring and bestest friend we could ever ask for and it was such an unexpected loss. So, we want to do our bit to help those who might be going through similar circumstances.
So, instead of just accepting this we thought why not just take a different approach and help make a difference. So, we are asking you all to donate to this link to show your support to those who really need it, even if it's just a dollar. Every single bit makes a difference. For every $50 raised, Matai will run 10km (5km radius loop) and Merekara will run 5km.
