Help Daniel contribute to the Be. Leadership Programme to develop his Leadership qualities and make NZ a more accessible and diverse place.

Be. Leadership advances a more accessible society and a dynamic community of leaders who are passionate about accessibility, with the courage to host new conversations.
2018 Is a huge year for me. Personally and professionally. In late 2016 I finally graduated with a Diploma in Radio Broadcasting and Journalism not knowing where it could take me but feeling much like I had a golden ticket to the world.
Since then, I have had the amazing opportunity to pursue my dream of working in the media industry through the exceptional people at Be.Employed (A branch of the Be. Accessible Institue). Be. Employed is a dynamic accessible employment movement that invites leading organisations to find new ways to advance a more accessible employment landscape.
It was during this process that the team at Be. Employed recognised something in me I never took much thought in, the potential for developing my Leadership qualities.
After an intensive interview process, I am lucky enough to be one of only 15 people chosen to be part of the Be. Leadership program for 2018. Setting up this page is my chance to show my gratitude, and contribute to my own development.
What is Leadership to me?
This is one of many questions the programme forces us to think about and develop. Is Leadership the role we take in our own lives or is it something we do to influence others? What makes a leader and how do we become one?
Leadership, is often about being the first person to say "I can, I will, or How can I help?" It's not necessarily a role we seek out but can often be the result of our actions. Throughout the Be. Leadership workshops over the year, we hear from some incredible Kiwi's who are making NZ a more accessible, diverse, compassionate and accountable place. We unpack the concepts of Unconscious Biases, Globalisation, Civil Society, and other concepts that affect social change and learn to challenge some of our deepest fears, ideas, and ways of life.
It's through these workshops we learn to develop skills that when practiced in our daily lives set us up to become astounding, brave, dedicated and passionate workers, thinkers, and productive members of society who have the potential to be the future Leaders of change and growth in our community.
By the end of this programme, I hope to be a more confident, well rounded and passionate Leader who lives their values and follows their goals by always being my authentic self and uses their voice to create a more diverse, tolerant, connected and loving place.
