Darren and I shared a few things in common: first and middle names, May birthdays, similar ages, being chartered surveyors, a love of cycling. He was a great guy, full of humour and compassion, and it was a joy to have known and worked with him, if only for a relatively short time. Always ready with a quip or a story, there were rarely dull moments; both in the office and on various nights out. He was also the consummate professional; he enjoyed helping others along the way, junior and senior alike. Such a tragic loss and way too soon, but our world is all the more rich for having known you.
