…and I’ve finished! FINISHED!!! Ankle is extremely glad to hear it. Our last day was another bright and sunny one, perfect for watching the kms on the trail markers go down from 20 something to zero! Today was cuddle an animal day. So many cats, dogs, horses, chickens and geese along the way. Stumbled up to the cathedral feeling a sense of achievement, not least because I hit my $1000 target on the final day! Thank you all SO much!

And finally, much, much love to my dear friend for whom I’ve walked this Pink Camino. You’ve got this, girl 🩷

Long one today - 27kms. Ankle is still not happy so I pushed on and finished the walk quite quickly. Am glad tomorrow is the final day! Another sunny one today. Wandered past quite a few mini ponies on my way to Pedrona. Stayed the night in a cute little country house. Bless.

24 kms walked today. Legs are pretty heavy and tired. Ankle isn’t happy but we’re nearing the end so I’ve asked it to be kind.

Another day of rural walking through vineyards, villages and forest in sunshine (22 degrees today!) Finally found some veg for dinner!

Just a ‘short’ 19kms today. Ankle is still attached, so that’s good. It’s sunny today! Lovely walks along a river, through Spanish countryside and past little rural villages. I’m constantly hungry despite shovelling in food at every opportunity. Spent the night in beautiful Pontevedra.

26 kms walked on dodgy but holding up ankle. Drizzled with rain most of the day but the walk was pretty, through forests and villages. Quite sick of bread, croissants and meat. Would chop off an arm for some veg at this point!

  • Day one, done!

32 kms done and dusted on the first day. Naughty toe held up well but ankle decided it wanted to steal the limelight and stuffed itself in spectacular fashion. Bastard. But I walked on :-)

Coastal scenery was beautiful in between rain showers. Super thick hot chocolate and salads kept me going.

Ankle was glad to see the end of the walk and a lovely comfy bed.

All packed and ready to fly out tomorrow. Naughty toe is healing well thanks to Emma the osteopath and the toe exercises! Wish me luck!

  • Toe trouble!

      20 October 2024

Just a few days out from the walk and I’ve injured a ligament in my big toe and can’t walk properly! Said toe and I are still determined though! Even more so now, as a very near and dear friend has just been diagnosed. I’m walking this one for her and thinking of her every day.

Sadly, it can happen to any of us, so girls, please check your boobs 🩷
