Debbie's 120km Camino de Santiago walk for Breast Cancer
Nationwide
I've always said it: Cancer is a cockwomble.
I've always hated it. Then, in 2018 I got it and I hated it even more.
But I beat it.
Cancer recovery is a long and winding road, and I'm still on that road. So are millions of other women out there who need help and support to face what might well be the toughest time of their lives.
To do my bit this year I decided to take part in the 10km Pink Ribbon Walk for breast cancer. Only I realised that on Pink Ribbon Walk day I'll actually be walking a much longer 120km at the Camino de Santiago in Spain! So I've decided to turn my Camino holiday into The Pink Camino de Santiago Walk!
Yep, I can still do my bit - and so can you.
Please help me help all those women facing breast cancer and give a little - just a little. It really does help.
Thank you
ps. My aching, blistery feet will thank you too!
Day 6 done 1 November 2024
…and I’ve finished! FINISHED!!! Ankle is extremely glad to hear it. Our last day was another bright and sunny one, perfect for watching the kms on the trail markers go down from 20 something to zero! Today was cuddle an animal day. So many cats, dogs, horses, chickens and geese along the way. Stumbled up to the cathedral feeling a sense of achievement, not least because I hit my $1000 target on the final day! Thank you all SO much!
And finally, much, much love to my dear friend for whom I’ve walked this Pink Camino. You’ve got this, girl 🩷
Thanks Leo!
Thanks so much!
Thanks so much! I’m back in NZ on Friday. Catch ups?
