I'm running to raise money for Parkinson's NZ as part of a wider running challenge started by my close friend Karl and his sister Lorraine.
Hawke's Bay
Unfortunately a very close friend of mine in the UK lost his battle with cancer earlier this year. Karl was a keen runner and had a heart of gold. Last year he took part in a running challenge with friends and family to run everyday from December 1st to Christmas day. This year I am taking up the challenge here in NZ to raise money for a good cause.
I've decided to raise money for Parkinson's New Zealand. My Grandmother suffered from Parkinson's through most of her later life and it is debilitating and often extremely frustrating for those who have it. Parkinson's New Zealand do some fantastic work with those suffering from the disease and I want to help them continue this great work.
My aim is to complete a minimum of 5km each day and finish the challenge with a half marathon distance on Christmas Day.
Please feel free to donate as little or as much as you like to my cause. There is no target, but think of my poor legs when making a donation :-)

It’s all over (kinda)! 28 December 2019
So officially it’s all over! I did a half marathon distance on Xmas day and ran a total of 132km in 25 days. In addition I biked 115km to make up for not running for 5 days and I’m currently making up the running km’s to endure the 145km total gets done (just 6km to do now!).
Thanks so much to all you generous people, I never thought I would raise this much. It’s been a challenge, but nothing compared to the people who suffer from Parkinson’s.
What’s the next challenge? Still deciding that!
Merry Christmas anda Happy New Year!
