    Ok, here were the stats:

    Team name: ?#?derbydropouts?

    Course: Veteran Short Course

Support crew: 2 amazing family members who gave up their day for us

Weather: persistent rain, with occasional downpours and thunderstorms

Estimated time to complete according to organisers: 3-6 hours

Actual time to complete: 13.75 hours

Number of trainings the team managed to do all together: 0, we trained in part groups most of the time!

Navigation skills going into challenge: not many, if any...

Times any member of the team had done an adventure race before: 0

Number of checkpoints (CPs) to collect: 27

Number of CPs we collected: 27, but discovered this morning that five we collected weren't ours! (see previous point on navigation...)

Times we cried during the course: 0

Times any member mentioned quitting: 0

Times we got lost and did unnecessary kms: more than we can count!

Number of marshalls that gave up their cold pizza and Tim Tams for us: 2

Hours spent navigating in the dark with a few bike lamps (unanticipated): 3

Team members with more than one serious medical condition: 1 amazing chick, Kristie Purton. Kristie we were so happy to have you on the team, you were amazing in your fitness and persistence, and you cracked the whip for us just as hard as Lisa!

Number of transponders lost: 1 - between the last checkpoint and the finish line, in a grass field. Number of people looking for our transponder with us - about 6.

Time taken to locate transponder - at least 45 minutes, but it was finally found and we crossed the finish line with smiles on our faces.

Exhausted, but elated, and still quite sore team members: 4, who are all looking forward to next year!
