Dream come true for the miracle kid - Finn

Finn was born with hypoplastic right heart. Essentially he is missing one side of his heart.

We were told finn wouldn’t survive let alone thrive. He wouldn’t walk, eat or talk, let alone make it to his teenage years, boy were they wrong!!

Finn has spent a lot of his younger life in and out of starship, to date he’s had 3 open heart surgeries, his chest open 6 times, 27 other surgeries, was the first Nz baby to have a tracheostomy and heart surgery, 2 strokes (one on each side of his brain), was peg fed till 4 years old, countless mris, CT’s, echos and X-rays…. He’s 13 years old and our miracle.

He was nominated by Heartkids NZ to go on a trip of a lifetime to USA with other kids from NZ that have had a rough start to life and we were speechless. So grateful for the generosity and kindness we have been shown along Finn’s journey, although we don’t know what his future holds we will do everything in our power to make sure his life is full of every opportunity possible.
