Fundraising for Passive House Institute New Zealand - Te Tōpūtanga o te Whare Korou ki Aotearoa

Nationwide

At Passive House we believe everyone should have a home that is healthy, dry and energy efficient.

Passive House is an industry-ready, rigorous method of design and build resulting in highly energy efficient and healthy buildings.

Building to this standard has a positive impact on people’s health and wellbeing, helps to alleviate fuel poverty, and helps to mitigate against climate change. If all new buildings in New Zealand were built to the Passive House standard, we would see a huge impact.

It is estimated that around 90,000 Kiwis are hospitalised every year from preventable, housing-related conditions like asthma, pneumonia, and bronchiolitis. For every $1 spent on improving housing, $4 is saved by the public health system having to treat these diseases.

We believe Passive House should be accessible to everyone, and so we are fundraising to provide education and resources to increase the understanding of the Passive House standard. Public awareness will drive demand for Passive House as a solution to providing healthy, comfortable, warm, dry, and energy efficient homes, and more trained professionals will enable more Passive House buildings to be delivered for people to enjoy the benefits.

Help us reach our fundraising goal by making a donation today.
