Team Royal Blue goes Two Weeks Without

Team Royal Blue is made up of 9 enthusiastic student leaders from the University of Canterbury; Sophie, Alex, Ribu, Chloe, Liam, Daniel, Millie, Rosie and Lizzie.

Together, we are each giving up an hour each day - from 6am til sunrise, to do service for White Elephant Trust, an amazing local charity working with young people in Christchurch.

The hour we are giving up each day will be dedicated to making over a thousand paper cranes to brighten up WE's HQ on Tuam St.

The story of Sadako Sasaki and her 1000 paper cranes (see here: http://www.hiroshima-is.ac.jp/index.php?page=sadako-story) is one modelling courage, hope, perseverance and friendship, all of which we want to model in our journey as Emerging Leaders and most especially during this fundraiser! Sadako was "the child that inspired peace in the world," and we hope that during the 126 hours Royal Blue team is giving up in our Two Weeks Without challenge, we can help The White Elephant Trust to make a positive difference in our local community.
