Running for Dementia New Zealand

Auckland

Kia ora,

We are Ella and Nina. On October 6th, we will be running a half marathon to raise money for Dementia New Zealand. This will be the second time we've run this far, ever. We initially signed up for this to get out of our comfort zones but decided to also use this as an opportunity to fundraise for an important cause. In 2022, we each lost a Grandparent, both of whom had been living with dementia, so this is a cause close to our hearts.

Dementia is an umbrella term for over 100 diseases. The condition affects a person’s ability to think, reason, and remember which can be both heartbreaking and confusing. Over 70,000 New Zealanders currently live with dementia every day and 4 out of 5 people know someone who has it. Dementia impacts not just the person with the disease, but their families, friends, and carers.

All our proceeds will be donated to Dementia New Zealand, a not-for-profit charity that provides resources for individuals and their families affected by dementia. This includes carer education programmes and support groups, brain health education and one-one-one advisor support.

We would really appreciate any donation to help support this cause!
