The 300 $10 Hearing Heroes Challenge

Hear This Education believes that people should have healthy hearing for their whole lives.

As our world becomes noisier, people are missing key info on the causes and risks of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). Noise-induced hearing loss is hearing loss caused by exposure to loud noises/sounds e.g. fireworks, concerts, traffic etc. According to the World Health Organization the number of people affected by hearing loss is increasing at an alarming rate.

NIHL is preventable if you are aware of the risks and know how to protect your hearing. Our ‘Hear This’ programme is tailored to our unique Kiwi experiences and shares important information about how the ear works, how to identify sounds that pose a risk and provides practical solutions on how you can protect your hearing. Our dedicated educators visit schools to share this info directly to children.

The average cost of sharing this valuable and life changing information is roughly $10 per child. In 2024 we are taking our programme nationally to reach more kids, and we need your help!
