I'M CUTTING MY HAIR!!!

...and raising money for my favourite charities and people. I hope that my act inspires you to make a donation and support my message: Inner beauty shines the brightest. Even if it’s only a few dollars, together we can make a difference!

Like every woman, I am very attached to my long hair!

But I am letting it go to give it to someone who needs it more - kids with cancer.

I’ve been looking after my hair as best I can; growing it for a while now in order to donate. It feels good to know that my hair can give someone the confidence that it’s given me for so long.

The only time in my life when I had my hair shorter than my shoulders was when I was 7 years old. I made a deal with my parents that if I finished the first year with all A+ grades, then I could have my hair really short. I still have a little ponytail of hair in Donetsk which my grandma will donate on my behalf.

This brings me to the present. New Zealand is an amazing country to live in, and full of beautiful souls from all over the world. Two of those souls are my friends who inspired me with their example to make a hair donation.

To all the lovely ladies out there, I encourage you to grow your hair & donate it!

Being born in Ukraine, and living most of my life there, I fully understand how lucky I am to have lived in New Zealand for the last 4 years. I know that it is possible in New Zealand to live on a minimal salary. That’s why I would like to donate to people who are less fortunate.

Here’s where I’d like my donations to help:

1. Helping elderly people in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. This has been a big dream of mine, as it is close to home and therefore my heart. Here’s why.

The pension for the elderly in Ukraine is so tiny, that it is only enough to pay for power bills. Most of them are struggling as their Ukrainian deserved pension has been taken from them. They live in Donetsk region; however, as this is a “taken” territory now, they are not eligible for Ukrainian pension unless they cross the border to Ukraine every 3 months. The pension is around $100 a month, but this is all the money they can get, and so they’re left with no other choice than to endure the following in order to get the little they are offered to survive. They travel 3 hours by bus, wait more than 3 hours in the line to cross the border, then bus for a further 3 hours to the closest Ukrainian city. As my grandmother still lives in the Donetsk region, she will be able to help and to give donations to people in need. She has a mobile phone and can take pictures of happy faces.

2. Workout for Water

It can take some children in Africa up to 4 hours of walking every day just to access clean drinking water. Les Mills is partnering with UNICEF in a worldwide effort to change that.

Thank you, thank you legends!

All donors will receive a personal thank you from me.

Forecast says raain!! $$$ Goal: $5000 NZD!
