Andrew (Youngy) fundraising for the FFC1000 - a ride for Kidscan
Wellington
For 16 years, iRIDE has existed to get people stoked on cycling and everything that comes from getting outdoors on a bike. If we can also use the humble bicycle to do some good and give Kiwi kids a hand up, we’re all in. I’m proud to stand alongside our FFC—Fat Fathers Cycling—community to support KidsCan and make every kilometre count.
Ten years ago, the Fat Fathers Cycling crew rode from Christchurch to Queenstown and raised an incredible $170,000—enabling KidsCan to support another 800 children across four new schools.
In November 2026, the team is back for round two: riding 1,000km, climbing more than 14,000 vertical metres and finishing with the Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge. This time, the goal is to raise $200,000 and help another 1,000 Kiwi kids.
I’m proud to be right behind the team as they embark on this journey. While I won’t be able to ride the entire trip, I want to play as much of a role as I can—supporting their fundraising efforts personally, while iRIDE helps fuel the riders with nutritional support throughout the week and gives these fine cyclists a proper breakfast send-off on the morning they depart from our cafe partner Volco.
Meridian Energy is generously covering the ride costs, meaning every dollar raised goes directly to KidsCan. Thank you for backing FFC, supporting KidsCan and helping level the playing field for Kiwi kids.
We’re riding to raise money for Kidscan and help kiwi kids to learn with food in tummies, shoes on feet, and rain jackets to stay dry.
