Thanks to your incredible support and our partner Escea, the ReliefAid team in Syria continue to deliver safe cooking stoves to families in need!

Earlier this year, we completed distributions and we’re now preparing for the next shipment of stoves which are arriving in Syria shortly. Huge thanks to our partner Oceanbridge for helping ship the stoves all the way from Dunedin to the displacement camps in Syria.

In 2024, an unprecedented 16 million people in Syria require life-saving humanitarian aid, this number is expected to rise in 2025. Out of that 16 million, each number represents a person and a life that deserves to live in peace, dignity and safety. Among them are families who have lived in tents for over a decade, with children who have never known the warmth of a home or a proper kitchen.

Thanks to your humanity and our amazing partners, families are receiving a safer, more effective way to cook using Fire for Life stoves.

Together, we’re making a real difference. Stay tuned for more updates!

Thank you for supporting our Fire for Life programme in Syria!

With your help, combined with that of our partner and stove manufacturer Escea, we are starting a new round of distributions shortly. The newest batch of 1600 flat packed stoves left Escea in Dunedin, New Zealand in the early months of 2024. Their route to Turkey more protracted this time as, due to the problems in the Red Sea, they took the safer route around the Cape of Good Hope. Thankfully our partner OceanBridge took care of the shipping. Right now, they are being assembled ready for distribution to families in camps over the next couple of weeks.

The stoves will be distributed to families in displacement camps who are using open fires to cook their meals. As might be expected in a tented community, this is extremely dangerous due to both the fire hazard and the adverse health conditions created by smoke. Open fires also burn more fuel, which is both difficult to obtain and expensive. The portable and easy-to-use stoves give families living in camps a safer and cleaner way to cook. Based on feedback from previous distributions, we are now providing families with the option of having a larger stove top which will make cooking for larger families easier.

In Syria, approximately 6.8 million people have been displaced, underscoring the ongoing need for humanitarian aid. Thanks to your support we are providing 1600 families with peace of mind through better, safer cooking solutions!

We are thrilled to announce that our partner and innovative designers behind the Fire4Life stove, Escea, have taken home not one, not two but three awards from this year's Best in Design Awards. They truly brought the heat!

This achievement affirms how brilliant and helpful these cooking stoves are for families in need. The stoves work efficiently, designed specifically to tackle the problem of open fire cooking in developing countries. They are light-weight, are simple to light, require less fuel and burns cleaner.

With your help, we are reaching more and more displaced families in Syria. Every family deserves to cook safely. Thank you for helping make that happen!
