Raising funds required to build Canterbury House, a family home for eight orphaned and abandoned children in Uganda.
Nationwide
For the month of June, Friends Around the Globe will be 'Walking with a Purpose' raising funds to make a significant and lifesaving difference in the lives of others.
At present funds are being raised towards the construction of a new family-based home, for eight orphaned and abandoned children who have been rescued into the care of Fountain of Peace Children's Foundation in Uganda. This home will be named Canterbury House and will cost a total of $95,000 NZ to build. So far, two thirds of the funds have been raised. Friends Around the Globe are wanting to help raise funds for the final stages of Canterbury House so eight children can move into this family home with their new mum.
To do this they will be getting out and walking an individually set goal of up to 25 km per week for the month of June. Participants who register to take part in this event, will submit the distances they walk each week which will be added to a collective running total. Together our goal is to walk the periphery of Uganda, a total of 2,698 km.
We would be so grateful for your support in sponsoring these keen walkers to help get Canterbury House completed.
