Inspired by our NZ Paralympians I want to demonstrate my commitment to raise funds for the NZ Paralympic Games Team for Tokyo 2020.
Auckland
Inspired by our New Zealand Paralympians, and our Paralympics New Zealand partners, I wanted to personally demonstrate commitment to raise much needed funds for our New Zealand Paralympic Games Team in the lead up to Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
As a full-time working mother of two (6yr old and 5yr old), I haven't prioritised my physical activity for a few years now. Routine has been "get up, eat breakfast, drop children to school, work, pick children up from after school care, after school sports commitments, home, eat, bathtime, bed". My lack of prioritisation/commitment/self care is very evident. I am definitely not modelling the importance of physical activity to my children, and the realisation of that has sparked my motivation to embark on a new challenge that involves increased physical activity whilst contributing to a great charity.
Paralympics New Zealand partner, Toyota New Zealand's campaign is "Start your impossible" and I have taken up that challenge to start my impossible and commit to training for the Mt Maunganui half marathon on 24 August (13 weeks time).
As Chief Executive of Paralympics New Zealand I want to do my personal bit to contribute and raise funds to assist in supporting the New Zealand Paralympic team to Tokyo 2020.
