I'm a 1/2 bald man growing my hair for a year to raise money for the Child Cancer Foundation - skull mullet for a cause! Get on board!
Canterbury
What started as a bit of a joke in the workshop with the lads has now become a year long challenge for a very worthy cause....child cancer.
As a 1/2 balding man, the lads thought it would be awesome to challenge me to grow my hair for a year - a bloke with a skull mullet strutting around the workshop was too good to pass up on but when the cash sum for my efforts clocked over $550 I thought it was time to get serious and as a parent to a young son, the Child Cancer Foundation seemed a fantastic cause.
So for me, looking like an idiot for a year, seemed a small price to pay for this cruel and unfair illness which affects far more than just the child who is going through it. Most people shave for a cure, but as I started balding at the age of 27 - this wasn't possible for me, so growing my hair is what I'll do with the eventual goal of someone shaving it all off for me at the end of this time...unless my wife has decided she likes me better with hair, then I might keep it ;)
So please follow me on my year long journey of hair growth.... give generously and share widely and let's see how far this thing can go!
(Weekly picture updates of my progress will be posted!)
Have always been passionate about the support this foundation offers to children and their families, having a young son has spurred me to to take action and get fundraising.
