New Zealand Pug Rescue

At the helm of NZ’s Pug Rescue is Brenda, who is offering these special dogs a second chance at leading a fulfilled life – whether this be through re-homing or providing them a loving forever home herself. She has an open door & an open heart, tirelessly tending to puggies who often have very demanding physical needs. No pug is ever turned away – no matter what state their health may be in - and so often these precious pups sadly turn up in quite an unfortunate way.

The rescue gets them all seen to by a vet and takes all the steps needed to get them into a comfortable state of wellness. More often than not, these pugs need ongoing healthcare and medicine, or, in quite a few cases they also need operations for varying reasons. These costs I imagine can be quite overwhelming - added with the costs associated with homing, feeding & registering each and every one of these pugs. This is a lot of very hefty bills!!

We have a mighty fine pug loving group here within New Zealand, full of passionate, caring people who adore pugs. I am appealing to you all with the hope that you will in turn appeal to your friends and families for support.

I have created this page as I feel so driven to help Brenda care for these beautiful pugs. I really want to help. I want to contribute in a way that shows my respect and gratitude for all that Brenda at NZ Pug Rescue does every day, every night, year in and year out. She loves and nurses each and every one of these pugs in the unique ways that they each need to be cared for.

I believe that if we were all able to give even $2 then this would help immensely – the point being that if we all give a little it can then grow into a lot 🙂

I have been spurned on as the last post was about an elderly girl pug who needed so much medical help it was quite mindboggling. I thought, for goodness sakes, someone needs to offer some help here!!

So please, I am asking you all to give a little for Brenda & her darling pug babies at the NZ Pug Rescue as I feel together, we can make a huge difference in these beautiful little dogs lives.

I've set this account up to try and help a most worthy cause. Brenda is mostly a one-woman-band providing such a loving, selfless, professional & compassionate home to pugs who find themselves in dire situations. I really want to be able to contribute as my heart goes out to both the pugs & to her. She's a humble woman who doesn't ask for help and I want to be help in whatever capacity I possibly can. Reaching out to other pug & animal lovers is something I can do...

Please give a little - it means a lot to these funny wee dogs we love so much <3

Day ten - Hugely Grateful!!  29 June 2017

Just a quick update to say thank you to all of you who have been so generous and allowed us to get to the amazing total that we're at - $2891!!! This is just so so great! Pug lovers unite :)

I know that this money is going to help out in many wonderful ways - it's super appreciated especially right now. Things we can sometimes take for granted to pay for like bags of food, registration & even being able to pay the vet bills. I cannot imagine just how much this all adds up to with multiple puggies...& some with ongoing and new ailments needing vet attention - pretty overwhelming at times I'd say.

Most of us know that it's been a really sad sad week at The Rescue. Brenda took darling Lilly to the vet to get her swollen face looked at & didn't return home with her. Lilly has crossed over to The Rainbow Bridge to be free & join her big pal Bruno - they will be cavorting & playing up a storm now I'm sure. While Brenda has had to face these heartbreaking times quite a bit over the years I know that it really never gets any easier. I also know that her heart is fully & entirely immersed in what she does & it is passionately all for the love of these beautiful wee dogs that love her so very much - and need her so much.

So please keep on sharing this post. Please consider donating a little if you can...The thing about giving a little is that if we all gave $1 we'd have about $6000, as that's how many people follow The Pug Rescue Page and that's not to mention all of the avid pug lovers in our NZ Pug group. It all really does add up...& you may think it's not enough to donate $1 but truly, it really all amasses to a grand total of heartfelt generosity.

Thank you all again, such gratitude from myself & from Brenda. It's extremely heartening & humbling to be part of such a wonderful charity. A Rescue that makes the world of difference to these dogs who's life journeys have gone very wrong for them, by providing the most loving, caring & selfless home they could ask for. A sanctuary for the interim or for life - no pug is ever turned away.

I dedicate this update in very loving memory of the small puglet with the big big personality, Wild Bill Lilly - fly free beautiful girl & rest easy...

Arohanui,

Tola xXx
