1st cousins Giana, Max and Dante are coming together to do a team triathlon event to raise funds for the Cancer Society
Christchurch, Canterbury
In honour of our Grandpa, Mal Fyfe (or "Gramps" or "Poppa" as he's called), 1st cousins Giana, Max and Dante are coming together to do a team triathlon in an event called the Mini Oxman to raise funds for the Cancer Society. We voted and came through with the team name "Fyfe For Life!" playing off the charity boxing event "Fight For Life".
Gramps or Poppa spent many years volunteering for many different charities and one of his hats was driving 20km to visit patients in the cancer ward of the hospital and just spend some time with them. He's since been diagnosed with quite advanced dementia and is in 24hour care but he stands as a reminder to us grandchildren of what kind of heart he has and to always be grateful for the lives that we live.
