George has now raised a massive $1500 for Polyfest, thanks to your help!
For anyone wanting to watch George abseil from the stadium at 11.20am, Thursday May 21, you’re all very welcome to come along and cheer him on. Note that no one will be allowed on the pitch, we’re all just watching from one of the lounges.
Here are the details:
— Go to Gate J (Leith side), head to the Scenic Hotels Lounge, and staff will buzz you in.
— George is scheduled to go at 11.20am, but we recommend getting there a bit earlier if possible.
— If you can't make it we'll share photos (and video if possible) on this page afterwards.

CloudCannon CTO George Phillips will be offline for approximately 15 minutes on Thursday 21 May. No customer-facing CloudCannon services will be affected. As for George himself, expect elevated error rates in conversation, reduced response times in Slack, and intermittent eye contact for 24 to 48 hours. Full operational status is not expected before Monday 25 May.

In the past week, George has been spotted researching stunt doubles, seeing whether his CloudCannon hoodie fits on a mannequin, and asking his brother Ross whether he'd be willing to "help out with a small thing." We're flagging this for the record. There will be no substitutions at the rope.
He was also at Forsyth Barr Stadium recently for Relay for Life. The roof, he reports, looked rather high. He's been quieter than usual since.
So we're raising his target to $2,000. Every additional dollar is one more reason George can't quietly develop a convenient illness on the morning of the abseil.
Remember, Polyfest gets the funds. George gets the view.
