RIDING FOR HOPE! 2022

On March 5th a group of mad idiots are riding 50cc scooters all the way from Napier to Wellington.. about a ten hour marathon. It’s going to be epic! We are trying to raise money for the “I Am Hope” group, which is ran by the Key to Life Charitable Trust… also raising money for the local “Awhi” Charitable Trust… please read on…

For the last sixteen years I have dedicated my working career to helping others as a Mental Health Support Worker… you don’t see me in the newspaper or on television… but I’m out there behind the scenes rolling my sleeves up and putting in the mahi for this community of ours. If it means raising money to help our youth have a better quality of life or even help save someone’s life… then hell yeah I’m all over it!!! You can help to.

I AM HOPE is the youth and community focused support group run by The Key to Life Charitable Trust. Key To Life have been promoting positive attitudinal societal change in schools and communities up and down the country since 2012.

Awhi Charitable Trust is a new charity that has been started in Hawke’s Bay.

The aim of Awhi is to provide rangatahi with support and advocacy as they navigate their journey through education, training, and employment. We aim to offer this support to our most vulnerable youth who are often falling through the gaps of other services due to not fitting criteria, or are aging out of their current provider. Awhi will remove barriers, offer support and advocacy, and work alongside our rangatahi to help them set goals and transition into their next pathway, this could be into further education, training or intern/mentorship with the end goal of employment.
