Goal- Getting Brett to Abu Dhabi!

$1,326 of $12,500 goal
Given by 18 generous donors in one year

Despite his disabilities my brother has been recognized as a top athlete - he is my pride and I am his voice: - Abu Dhabi? 'Yes We Can!'

Auckland

This is a story of courage and resilience and I am proud to call Brett my brother, here is his story.

Brett is a friendly and happy person, he displays true sportsmanship both on and off the field. Brett has a great passion for sport and happily joined Special Olympics in 2000, as a Papakura High School student.

Brett has competed in many competitions, which have included Athletics, Basketball and Football. He has attended the National Games in 2001 and 2005. He captained the Auckland Football Team and won the 'Man of the Tournament' in the 2017 National Summer Games.

Brett has represented New Zealand in 2001/2002 and 2003/2005 with the 'South Auckland Kiwis' Rugby Team. They are New Zealand's first and only full-contact special needs Rugby Team.

However, being English Brett's Number 1 sport has always remained Football!

"The Beautiful Game"

Brett has competed in a range of Special Olympic sports for 18 years and has finally gained a place in the Special Olympics New Zealand Football Team!

He is a keen Manchester United supporter and has been to Old Trafford to watch the Red Devils. Brett also supports VfB Stuttgart, as we as a family lived in Germany for five years before deciding to return back home to New Zealand.

Brett was extremely pleased to get back into Special Olympics again in New Zealand.

Never guessing that he would be selected to play Football at the World Games! What a triumphant return!!!

Brett is training weekly in the lead up of the World Games with his goal to become the best midfield player like his role model David Beckham.

My brother is very proud, honoured and excited to be representing New Zealand in the World Games in Abu Dhabi in March 2019.

Please help Brett to fulfill his dream!

What a busy weekend it has been for Brett! He and his National team mates from around NZ stayed over night at the College Riffles Rugby Club to futher bond and prepare for their Football tournament in Ellerslie.

Today the National team played against other Auckland Regional teams, even against Brett's local team Auckland!

Albeit a challenging tournament, however the national team came up tops won all of the games! Brett scored a total of four goals and passing five winning goals! For which Brett rightfully won the Man of the Match.
