Raising money towards funds required to build 'Canterbury House' a family home for 8 orphaned and abandoned children in Uganda.
Auckland
On the 26th of November, Harry Rowell will be 'Swimming with a Purpose' from Rangitoto Island across the Hauraki Gulf to St Heliers Beach in Auckland, to make a difference in the lives of others. Funds raised will go towards the construction of a new family-based home for eight orphaned and abandoned children in the care of Fountain of Peace Children's Foundation in Uganda. This house will be named Canterbury House.
Canterbury House will cost a total of NZ$90,000 to build and so far half of the funds required have been raised. Harry has chosen to 'Swim with a Purpose' to help raise the remaining funds. He has spent this month training and will be joining the 4.6 km Rangitoto to St Heliers Ocean Swim in Auckland on the 26th with the hope of completing this in under two hours. This is a big challenge for Harry being the first time he has swam this far in the ocean.
Harry would be so grateful for your support in sponsoring him. Every dollar raised will help to get Canterbury House built, so eight children will be able to move into this forever home with their new mum.

Thanks SO much to everyone for their incredible support! 22 November 2022
Harry has been overwhelmed by the incredible support he has received since sharing his challenge with friends and family just 24 hours ago. He would like to say a HUGE thank you to everybody who has got in behind him so far. It's been such a huge encouragement that he has decided to increase his fundraising goal. Amazing! With just four days to go until Harry's big ocean swim we wish him all the very best in his final days of training.
