Hayden Craw

Following a decade in corporate banking, agribusiness specialist Hayden Craw uses his vast financial expertise to help Compass Agribusiness clients grow their businesses. Raised on a family farm in West Otago on New Zealand’s South Island, Hayden completed a double degree in Agriculture and Agribusiness at Massey University before starting work for Westpac, just before the 2008 Global Financial Crisis hit. What followed was an intensive nine months for a new graduate, but the experience set him up for a successful career in finance.

From Westpac’s Christchurch office to the rural heartland of Mid Canterbury with Westpac, Hayden oversaw many clients develop and intensify their businesses before taking an overseas “career break” to the UK with his wife Aileen where he worked on intensive cropping and sheep farms and played rugby and cricket.

On his return to New Zealand, Hayden joined Westpac’s Dunedin Office as its Corporate Agribusiness Manager. In September 2019, he moved to Compass Agribusiness and opened its Dunedin office.

Outside of work, Hayden enjoys playing (and watching) sport, and spending time on his wife’s family farm in Garston with his young children Henry and Imogen
