Fundraising for Myeloma NZ
Takaka, Tasman
For several years, Jessica Moleta, owner of @Past, Present & Fuchsia has been a passionate supporter of fundraising efforts held each March to raise awareness of multiple myeloma.
In recognition of Jess’s dedication, and in support of those we care about living with multiple myeloma, we are committed to continuing this important work. Our goal is not only to raise funds, but also to increase awareness, encourage community support, and contribute to the vital work of the Multiple Myeloma Charitable Trust.
Myeloma, also known as multiple myeloma, is a cancer of plasma cells — a type of white blood cell that plays an important role in the immune system.
Despite the significant impact myeloma has on individuals and their families, awareness of the disease remains relatively low. It is the second most common blood cancer in New Zealand, yet many people are still unfamiliar with its effects. Approximately 400 New Zealanders are diagnosed with myeloma each year.
As part of our fundraising efforts, staff from Golden Bay Community Health will be shaving their hair in solidarity on Friday the 19th of June.
Another meaningful way to support this cause is through plasma donation. In New Zealand, donated plasma is used to create important medicines and treatments that help people living with multiple myeloma.
The staff of Golden Bay Community Health sincerely thank you for taking the time to support this cause and help raise awareness for those affected by multiple myeloma.
Thank you so much for your kind support and being the first to donate - we truly appreciate it ❣️
