Raising money to raise awareness, fund treatments and provide support for a cancer very close to my heart.
Otago
This July, I’ll be running the Nelson Half Marathon to raise funds for a cause that is very close to my heart.
A close relative of mine has been diagnosed with neuroendocrine terminal cancer. He is a devoted father and husband, and watching him and his family face this incredibly difficult and unimaginable journey has been heartbreaking.
Neuroendocrine cancer is a very rare and often slow-growing form of cancer that develops in specialised neuroendocrine cells found throughout the body. These cells play an essential role in regulating many of the body’s vital functions, meaning tumours in this system can have very serious effects on a person’s health.
Through this fundraiser, I hope to raise funds for Neuroendocrine Cancer NZ to contribute towards future research, treatment, and support services for those affected by this disease. My hope is that, in time, more individuals facing neuroendocrine cancer will have greater access to treatment options, support, and hope for the future.
Any donation or support, no matter how big or small, would mean so much to me and my family. Thank you for your kindness and generosity
