Help for Firefly Children's Home

$1,735 of $500 goal
Given by 23 generous donors in around 6 months

Please help me continue to assist in providing care and education for the wonderful kids in Firefly Children's Home Nepal.

International

Hiya! I have spent the last three weeks volunteering with Firefly Children's Home in Nepal, and it is safe to say that it is one of my favourite experiences to date. I would quite happily stay longer than the one week I have left if it wasnt for expiring visas! Whilst volunteering I have taught English, art, and dance to an incredibly bubbly and talented group of kids.

I would really appreciate your donations to help keep such an amazing organisation running into the future. They will give all children an equal chance at success no matter what situation they were born into. It would really mean a lot to me if over the next week we could raise as much as possible as a sort of surprise gift when I leave, and to show that my support efforts won't stop when I fly out of Nepal.

The Firefly Children's Home is run under the Prisoners Assistance (PA) Nepal, which was founded by Indira Ragamana. New Zealander Amanda McKay has partnered with her in order to form this organisation. It helps children who are born, or taken into prisons with their parents have a fulfilling life. PA Nepal also helps parents to have successful prison releases, and allows children to visit and maintain relationships with them.

For further information on Firefly Children's Home, you can visit their website: http://www.fireflychildrenshome.org .

The money raised will go directly to the Firefly Children's Home and help support the expenses of raising 106 kids and young adults, and 14 staff.

To give you an idea of the costs; monthly it's costs $1200 to provide food and water, $400 for clothes and uniforms, and $680 for education needs, to name a few.

The orphanage also runs a public primary school for the children and local families, to give all children in the rural area a quality education.

Thankyou so much for taking the time to read this. You're contribution an support for the organisation means a great deal to me, and those it supports.
