Help Nelson College for Girls Sailing team defend their title in Sydney.

Nelson College for Girls fought off 8 other teams from around the country to win the title for the Bronze (Mixed) fleet in the 2023 Secondary Schools Teams Sailing event in Sandspit, Warkworth this year. This gives them the opportunity to attend the Secondary Schools Interdominion Championships in Sydney.

Team sailing is the next level in complication! With 2 teams, each made up of 6 sailors in 3 boats racing against each other with the usual sailing tactics combined with blocking maneuvers to gain the best team finishing order possible.

Sailing is a great mix of mental and physical challenges, it can be cold, exhausting and scary but also hugely rewarding. Sailing teaches self-reliance, and perseverance and fosters an understanding of the natural environment around us, often the sea and the wind become a part of your life forever.

Please support the Nelson College for Girls' Sailing team and help them continue their success in Sailing. Money raised will go towards the cost of flights and accommodation as they are not eligible to apply for grant funding for this.
