Help Counties Manukau Rowing Club Inc get to the NZ Rowing Championship
Auckland
Over Auckland Anniversary weekend 2019, the North Island Club Rowing Championship was held at Lake Karapiro. Counties Manukau Rowing Club Inc (CMRC) attended and had very good success.
Right from the beginning of the 2018-19 season, the Rowers have worked hard and as a result, obtained a tally of 4 silver medals in the following events:
Men's Intermediate Octuple
Women's Intermediate Double
Women's Senior Single
Women's Senior Coxless Quad
This is an impressive result from a relatively small squad of 30 rowers.
As a result, the Coaching staff has selected a team of 9 rowers to attend the National event at Lake Ruataniwha, Twizel over the week of 17 - 24 February 2019. This is a week of quality racing, right from Novice level to Premier.
There are many logistics involved - this being trailering boats all the way from our club in Mercer to Lake Ruataniwha (and return), along with flying our rowers, coaches and parent helpers down and keeping them well fed and comfortable to keep them in the best possible shape for the week of racing ahead.
Our rowers have worked very hard to get to this point, and they continue to do so - we are sure they will do their best against their South Island counterparts and maybe bring home some more treasure!
Your donation will be gratefully received and will help cover the costs associated with getting the CMRC team to Lake Ruataniwha to compete.
Thank you!
