Help The Pukehina Surf Club Get A Van!

Pukehina has become my second home where I've learnt to surf, fish, and have been a part of nippers. I’ve grown a strong bond with this special beach which has given myself, and others so much (including being saved multiple times by the lifeguards over the past 21 years).

I’ve decided I want to do my part to give back through this fundraising campaign to give more kids the same opportunity that I had growing up as it can add priceless value to their lives through skills, hobbies, and friends.

With Pukehina beach-goers and members of the surf club rapidly increasing (20,000+ visitors in 20 days) the amount of kids interested in surf life saving continues to increase. Majority of these kids are from the outskirts of Pukehina but have no way to get to training so end up missing out on a lot!

Here are some of the differences a van would make for our community:

- Our members can attend more skill development, trainings, patrols, and events.

- Available for public usage or to support schools and clubs.

- Encourages team ethos and friendships by being able to travel together.

- Reduces our carbon footprint.

- Allows for patrolling in Maketu and Taupo who are in need of lifeguards.

- We can take members to fun events, prizegiving's, sporting events, volunteering events.

- Supports the Junior Surf, Lifeguards, and Masters age groups.

- Wrapping the van with signwriting will increase club exposure.

- Allows for easy transportation of club gear.

All money raised will be separated from general club funds and be put in a community matching fund we've applied for and will be put towards the operational and purchasing costs involved.

This gives you an opportunity to show your support and gratitude to our community and those at the surf club who put so much of their time and efforts towards helping keep us safe and happy. This isn't only an awesome opportunity for the kids to get involved in such a positive and valuable community, but it helps keep those close to us stay safe at the beach too.
