Fundraising for Bone Marrow Cancer Trust / Ranui House
Nelson
We’re taking on a marathon relay challenge to raise funds & awareness for Ranui House by attempting to match the legendary New Zealander, Rod Dixon’s iconic 1983 New York City Marathon winning time of 2 hours, 8 minutes, and 59 seconds! To do this we have gathered a group of everyday legends that will run in a relay format, each taking on a 200-meter leg of the marathon distance until we've covered the full distance of 42.195km. This event will take place during The Spectacle running festival in Nelson.
Ranui House is a lifeline for families who find themselves in Christchurch for life-saving medical treatment. These families often travel far from home, leaving behind their support networks, and face the emotional and financial strain of long hospital stays. Ranui House provides them with a home away from home—a place where they can stay close to their loved ones, receive comfort, and a sense of community during some of the most challenging times of their lives. We're raising funds because we know firsthand how vital Ranui House is. The home away from home they provide can make all the difference for families going through the uncertainty and stress of medical treatment. Every donation helps Ranui continue to provide their incredible service.
Thanks for your support.
Completed! 17 December 2024
Our team smashed it on Saturday managing to cover the distance in 01:46:19. We had a high rate of attrition but everyone got after it and put their all into their 200m legs.
Thank you for your generosity towards Ranui House.
We are running it back next year!
Mate - legendary work from a legendary man. Cheers for your donation and getting after it on Saturday. There is no shame in your son passing you and stealing the baton at the 100m mark on a 200m sprint.....
Thanks again Chris. Really appreciate your support and generosity.
Mate! Thank you so much for your donation. You reckon you can dust off the spikes and come up for a few laps next year?
Thanks for your donation Hayden - really appreciate it!
