Fundraising for Save the Kiwi
International
Why does the kiwi need help?
Many New Zealand forests are no longer safe for kiwi due to the impact of introduced pests and predators like stoats, ferrets, and dogs.
In fact, 95% of kiwi chicks that hatch in areas without active predator control will be killed before they reach breeding age.
There is some good news though. Where the work is being done, kiwi numbers are bouncing back. Parts of the country that have fallen silent are starting to hear the sound of kiwi once more.
