I will be shaving my hair to raise funds to donate to Camp Quality. An organisation helping kids with cancer "just be kids"
Auckland
My name is Alessandra Cammelot-Allan, I am a 16 year old girl and I go to Kristin school. This year I decided that I wanted to make a difference, I didn't know how or what I was going to do. I just knew I wanted to help someone, or a group or people who were less fortunate then I am.
The night before school started I decided that I wanted to shave my hair off for children with cancer. These children who are diagnosed with cancer at a young age do not often get a childhood or have a chance to just be kids. They are having to deal with things most adults could not even begin to understand.
Thats when I found Camp Quality. Camp Quality is an organisation who design week long camps for children who have been diagnosed with cancer from ages 5-16. Their camps provide a "stress-free and caring environment for the children where fun and friendship are combined with achievable challenges - allowing the children to “just be kids”.
I have chosen to give up my hair for the possibility that these children will have an opportunity to be normal kids and your donations will give them an opportunity to give them this as well.
I am motivated to help Camp Quality give kids with cancer an opportunity to get a sense of normality, allow them to see the positive aspects of their lives, have fun and to just be kids.
