Homes of Hope rely on the generosity of funders and donations to be able to continue to do the important mahi they do.
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
I am participating in TGA Box’s Fight Night. I have decided to use this opportunity to raise funds and awareness for Homes of Hope, as I am passionate about the mahi they do and the difference they make to the lives of tamariki and whānau in Tauranga
Homes of Hope are a charity who provide therapeutic care for tamariki in the custody of Oranga Tamariki. Their vision of “Manaakitia a tatou kura pounamu - Making a lasting difference by empowering our children to live life well” sees them not only provide care but also wrap around services to support tamariki and whānau to flourish.
Homes of Hope provide safe, stable, loving, and caring homes for tamariki, and are committed to keeping siblings together, as often sibling groups are separated throughout their time in foster care. Part of the mahi Homes of Hope does is to support tamariki in a therapeutic way to heal from the trauma they have experienced. Homes of Hope are committed to breaking generational cycles so the tamariki they care for can be the change makers in generations to come. They are also committed to stability of placement, so tamariki can remain with them until they can either return to whānau or have their forever home identified.
Homes of Hope also provide wrap-around services to tamariki and whānau throughout Tauranga in the form of Child Centred Play Therapy (CCPT), whānau support work and supervised access.
