Our Whānau are running for our health and to raise money for Waipuna Hospice.

To honour the memory of Tania Ngā Putiputi Ririnui our whānau are raising money for Waipuna Hospice.
Tania was a much loved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Aunty & friend. She passed well before her time and leaves behind her husband, three beautiful children and countless whānau members and friends.
With Tania's passing we have made a promise to look after our health and wellbeing. As part of this many of have set a goal of participate in the Mount Maunganui half marathon 29 August 2026
Our goals will vary, for some it will be completing our first half, some will be chasing times and for some the 5km or 10km will be a challenge. You can see what each person is doing in the updates.
Waipuna Hospice provides specialised cares for those in their final stages of life.
As well as Nursing Cares they provide Social Work support, Counselling, Spiritual Support & more. Support can continue after a loved ones passing.
In her final weeks Tania was cared for at home with the assistance of Waipuna.
Tania was cared for with dignity & respect. Nothing was too much - if anything in her usual style Tania did not want to make a fuss.
Waipuna is not government funded while some of services are contracted from Te Whatu Ora Waipuna need to find millions of dollars a year so that they can continue to provide much needed support. Our whānau want to raise as much as we can so others can receive the same cares Tania did.
