Zoe cuts her hair for Cancer

Zoe Hollard is a 10 year old school girl in Whanganui. She has been thinking about ways she can support the community to raise funds for local Cancer Society. She is very aware of how cancer can affect lives and families.

Zoe's dad was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer at just 40 years old in late 2018. He went through 5 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy, followed by surgery. Her Dad, Chris, is doing well, but she remembers the days when things were quite serious. Zoe's grandad is still fighting his battle with lung cancer at 85 years old.

Zoe is very aware first hand of the wonderful work the local Cancer Society does to support families with transportation to and from treatment and support services they provide. She helped out with Daffodil Day last year and other fundraisers.

Zoe would love to see her hair go to make a wig for another little girl that has lost hers. We are still looking for ways to make this happen, but in the meantime would like to help fund existing patients for support during their journey.

Zoe has agreed to cut at least 30cm off her hair, she said if we raise lots of money, she will cut off up to 40cm!! We plan to cut her hair and will end the fundraiser on Sunday, 19th April at noon.

We know times are tough right now, which is exactly why we want to help the Cancer Society to keep some funds coming in. Every dollar counts :)
