I’m running for the dogs that wish they could.

Hey everyone! My names Laura and I’m a self confessed runaholic and animal lover.

Before having my four boys under four, back when I had a normalish life I was a police officer for 10 years! In this time I was exposed to a lot but one of the things that left a lasting print on my heart was all the chained dogs I had to see.

These dogs needed more than what is accepted under NZ minimum standards in the dog welfare code.

Dogs have a deep ingrained need for contact with either humans or dogs. When a dog is life chained they don’t receive socialisation they need to maintain their mental health and can become depressed and withdrawn. It denies dogs exercise, their chains become tangled, making it impossible to reach shelter and water. The health issues are endless and they do not receive any veterinary care.

So support me In breaking my own chain from my busy life to run my little heart out for the dogs. I realise this year, with covid revering it’s ugly head money is anything but growing on trees in this trying time! So please don’t feel obliged to donate if you don’t have the change to spare! For me this is more about raising awareness and if I can raise some money for the doggos while I’m at it well then that’s an extra bonus!
