One month ago, we lost someone very close to us to suicide. In honour of Ben we want to raise money for I Am Hope and make a difference.

Auckland

On the 6th of February 2021, Benjamin Ellis took his life. A son, brother, boyfriend, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend that touched so many lives.

In his memory, we want to make a change, and help families that have been struck with this kind of tragedy, and also to prevent it.

Mike King and his 'I Am Hope' team gave a bunch of us close to Ben, a seminar talk that really stuck with us and helped us in our grief. They travel New Zealand talking in schools and reaching out to those who need help, which is why we want to raise as much money as possible to support them, and help them to keep impacting more and more lives.

We will be walking 5km everyday from the 6th of March to the 6th of April in honour of Ben, and to raise money.

Suicide is such a devastating tragedy that unfortunately is far too common in young teens in New Zealand. It's time for a change. And it's time to speak up about it.
