Raising funds for LiveOcean in memory of wildlife filmmaker, photographer and conservationist Doug Allan
Queenstown, Otago
Earlier this year, I toured New Zealand with my father, Doug Allan, as he delivered his speaking tour, Life Behind The Lens.
Doug was a wildlife filmmaker, photographer and conservationist whose work took him from pole to pole and inspired countless people to appreciate and protect the natural world. The tour brought together hundreds of people across the South Island through a shared appreciation of storytelling, adventure, wildlife and conservation.
Sadly, only two weeks after the tour finished, Doug passed away. Following his passing, I was overwhelmed by the kindness and support shown by those who attended the tour or had followed his work.
To honour his legacy, I am raising funds for LiveOcean, an organisation dedicated to protecting and restoring the health of New Zealand's oceans. Doug spent much of his life documenting the beauty and fragility of our marine environments, making this a cause close to his heart.
On Saturday 18 July, we are arranging a celebration of life at Searchlight Brewery in Queenstown. The event will include a fundraising raffle with prizes donated by local businesses and a selection of Doug's photographic prints available for purchase, with all proceeds being donated to charity.
Whether you attended Life Behind The Lens, followed his work, or simply care about protecting our oceans for future generations, I would be grateful for your donation.
Thank you for helping continue a legacy of care for the natural world.
