Live Ocean

Sailors and ocean lovers, Peter Burling & Blair Tuke, have a deep connection to the ocean. Having grown up on the water, they’re keen divers, surfers and spend every spare moment on (or in) the water. Peter and Blair founded Live Ocean because they believe that we we need a healthy ocean – a live ocean. The ocean makes up 71% of our planet. Every second breath of oxygen we take is produced by the ocean. It regulates our climate and weather, provides food and it’s where we play. It’s clear the life support system of the planet is facing huge pressures. It’s not too big to fail.

We need to step up to the challenge to protect and restore our oceans. Our vision is for New Zealand to be a world leading champion in ocean health. Our mission is to amplify and accelerate positive ocean action in New Zealand.
